The Tinnitus Exam is conducted online on any computer with speakers (most computers have integrated speakers - if you can hear sound coming from your computer, you already have speakers.) You can also elect to connect headphones to your computer.

This online evaluation takes about 30 minutes, and it includes five tests of your Tinnitus: Tinnitus Loudness, Tinnitus Type, Hearing Loss, Tinnitus Spectrum, and best Tinnitus Pitch Match. The Exam will also show the correlation between your Tinnitus and your Hearing Loss.

The Tinnitus Exam guides you though an easy to understand five-step process:

	Step 1: Calibrate Your Computer Your computer's audio performance and volume levels may be configured differently from that of other users. This step will identify a standard level of volume against which the subsequent test steps will be evaluated.
	Step 2: Identify YourTinnitus You will hear the types of tinnitus commonly experienced by patients. Based on your answers to these questions, Your Tinnitus will be classified into a tinnitus category. If Your Tinnitus type is notoriously known to be a potential symptom of a serious medical condition, you'll be told immediately.
	Step 3: Measure Your Hearing Spectrum Sound will be presented to you at a variety of frequencies across the normal human hearing spectrum. By adjusting the volumes at which each sound is presented, the test will determine Your Hearing Level at each frequency.
	Step 4: Match Loudness and Pitch of Your Tinnitus Based on the results of the previous steps, you will listen to a number of custom sounds and will be guided through a process that will match the Loudness and Pitch of Your Tinnitus. This data is then used to establish the relationship between the Pitch of Your Tinnitus and your Hearing Thresholds (hearing loss).
	Step 5: Exam Report You will be able to view and print a comprehensive report on the results of your evaluation, and you will be able to download the sound file that best matches the pitch of Your Tinnitus.
